Arizona's Sedona for Art and Shopping Lovers

The overwhelming beauty of the artistic, red rock town of Sedona, Arizona attracts visitors from as close as Phoenix to as far as Europe and Asia. Sedona offers spectacular craggy, rock mountains in its vista, plenty of high-end gallery shopping, and its own unique set of New Age attractions, which are somewhat bizarre to the average traveler. Because of Sedona's variety of allurements, mountain bikers, hikers, art collectors and New Age seekers alike, congregate in Sedona throughout every season. Many artists find that the inspiration of Sedona's beauty lasts throughout the year, so they become permanent residents. The result of so many painters, sculptors and artists living in one place is a town which is more than prepared to attract collectors of unique artwork, jewelry and homemade wares.

For those who want to add to their collection of hand-blown glass artwork, sandstone paintings, and silver and fine stone jewelry, Sedona's Tlaquepaque Arts & Crafts Village is the place to stop first. Arizona is known for attracting artists whose passion is discovered in their representations of the red rock deserts, canyons and interesting plant life. Native American art takes a front seat in this Spanish villa style, outdoor shopping area next to Sedona's Oak Creek. Tlaquepaque Arts & Crafts Village includes several restaurants for every culinary taste, and more than 40 shops, all nestled among mosaic fountains, painted stucco and colorful landscaping.

As beautiful as the Tlaquepaque Arts & Crafts Village is, you can easily spend a few days perusing the awesome number of other speciality shops, art galleries and homemade craft boutiques. The Sedona Center, which is right next to the Amara Creekside Resort, hosts its own set of galleries and art shops, too. Many stand-alone shops dot the hilly streets of Sedona, as well.

If you can get to Sedona in the spring, you may be able to visit the Sedona Art & Sculpture Walk at the Radisson Poco Diablo Resort. The various art pieces are hosted in the outdoors where visitors and collectors can enjoy the art with Sedona's own, natural artwork in the background. The festival features established and emerging artists with pieces done in every imaginable medium.

Sedona, Arizona is proud of its eclectic artists, painters, craftsmen and sculptors. More artists settle in Sedona every year to set up new galleries, art shops and specialized boutiques. Sedona has renowned leather, jewelry, glass and other artists, who make their artwork available for purchasing in many of the stores found in Tlaquepaque Arts & Crafts Village, The Sedona Center, Hillside Sedona, Uptown Sedona and many more shopping centers.
